AMEX (American Express) soon to cease in Vanuatu

We wish to share with you some news regarding payment methods in Vanuatu.

It is with regret that we announce that as of 4PM 30th June 2016 Moorings Hotel will no longer have the ability to process American Express (AMEX) credit cards due to the sale of Westpac Bank Vanuatu to Bank of South Pacific (BSP). This goes for the rest of the country naturally.

It is everyone's hope that BSP might consider taking on this task, but for the time being no sign of this has been given.

2017 Major Renovations

Dear valued readers and guests,

It is our pleasure to announce that Moorings Hotel will be undergoing major waterfront renovations in early 2017, between the 15th of January to 30th of April, with a possibility for extending into May.

Renovation endeavours will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Waterfront reinforcement
  • New waterfront decking
  • Upper floor harbourside room balconies
  • Direct water access ramp
  • Swimming pool lighting
  • Swimming pool decking
  • Gardens

This endeavour falls in line with our continuous commitment to improve Moorings Hotel to something that we, the destinations and our clientele can be proud of.

Moorings would like to announce that it will maintain its doors opened to the public, whilst offering very unique and attractive holiday specials, in return for full cooperation and understanding.
We would like to take this opportunity to stress that all staying guests will be exposed to regular noise, dust and presence of workers during most hours of the week between 6am to 6pm.
Specials are now being communicated to all relevant travel agencies and booking websites across the globe.

We aim to keep the public regular aware of changes that will affect this project, and therefore invite all concerned to watch this space for information updates as the months progress on.

We thank you for your understanding and support, and look forward to having the opportunity to introducing to you a new Moorings Hotel post renovations!
