General Terms & Conditions

All payments can be made in either Australian Dollars (AUD) or Vatu (VUV). Rates are however sold direct in Vatu only.

A credit card must be made available to the hotel at the time of check in to cover meal charges and other incidentals. Should a credit card not be available, a cash deposit of 10,000VT per person must be made and the account will be closed and any incidental charges will be required to be settled on a cash basis.

Bookings made via credit approved third party agents should refer to the booking & cancellation conditions supplied by the agent. All other customers of Moorings Hotel are bound by the following terms and conditions. (note: if you are unsure of the status of the agents through whom you wish to book, please contact the hotel for verification via the contacts listed on this page)

Booking Conditions

For customers booking direct with the hotel, booking confirmations will be issued and with guarantee occurring upon the receipt of a 50% deposit. An authorisation form will be issued with the confirmation inviting for either a credit card or telegraphic transfer, and the booking of airport transfers.

Group bookings (4 or more rooms) are required to pay a 50% deposit at the time of booking & full payment must be received at least two weeks prior to arrival.

Non credit approved agents must pay 100% of the accommodation payments at least two weeks prior to the arrival of the guests.
Balance of accommodation payment is due at check in or at check out by special arrangement with the General Manager.

Cancellation Conditions

Cancellations made more than 1 week prior to arrival are entitled to a full refund.

Cancellations made within 1 week of arrival are liable to pay 30% of the booking value.

Cancellations made within 72hours of arrival are liable to pay 50% of the booking value.

Cancellations made within 24hours of arrival and no shows are liable to pay 100% of the booking value.

Cancellations need to be made in writing, including email, letter or fax. A return acknowledgement will always be issued by the hotel.

Arrival Conditions

It is an international standard procedure for hotels to request a credit card from staying guests as a method of guarantee. Card details are merely kept on file and charges only processed once the holder has been notified of the nature of the transaction. In the absence of a credit card, a deposit of 10,000VT per person is to be collected and returned upon checkout. On cash deposit method only, incidental charges will not be authorised to the room bill and any loss or damages to rooms will be held fully accountable prior to departure. Should neither a credit card or cash deposit be provided, checkin will not be authorised as per company policy.

Tourism Levy

A tourism levy is included in your rate at Moorings Hotel. This special levy is used to assist the Vanuatu tourism industry to develop for the benefit of the people of Vanuatu.

Credit Card Fees

All credit card transactions will attract a 5% credit card fee.
