Q: Why the difference in reviews on TripAdvisor? I'm worried about booking my stay at Moorings Hotel.
A: It all comes down to expectations. Expectations are based upon many factors such as past travel experience, understanding of product purchased, personal preferences, public hype, word of mouth, etc... With the exception of a few reviews that thankfully offered valid insight into areas where the resort needs to improve on, you may find that others may not have fully comprehended the hotel's product and what features & facilities it offers. Moorings Hotel can be best viewed as a budget resort offering the best value waterfront accommodation in Vanuatu. For example, that in itself does not mean that all rooms are oceanview. It is also fundamental to understand that Moorings Hotel recently changed ownership and management in September 2014. With this welcomed change came about the discovery of countless improvements to be made, which we are still undertaking to this day. Naturally, as the property was let down for many years, some maintenance issues may arise during the stay. Such inconveniences are not uncommon in hotels and it is simply to the benefit of the guest(s) to approach management regarding such matters rather than regrettably keeping it to oneself for the entire duration of the stay. Rest assured however that the property is in fantastic shape in contrast to its former self. We are very excited with what we have achieved to date and more importantly what is yet to come further down the road.

Q: How is the catering on-site?
A: Moorings Hotel prides itself in offering some of the very best value for money dining available in the country. Our Entrees are a mere 850vatus, mains an average of 1600vatus and desserts 500vatus. We also offer weekly lunch specials at only 1200vt including a juice and weekly dinner specials between 1200 & 1800vatus! You will be very hard pressed to find better value in Port-Vila however we do expect our guests to dine out during long stays. Although we believe in offering lower prices on par with international standards, our head Chef Evanne Kerr delivers some extraordinary flavours in his fusion menu, especially in his Asian dishes. Our Continental Breakfast offers a wide variety of healthy choices like Tea & Coffee, Cereals, Yoghurt, Fresh Fruits, Bircher Muesli, Fruit& Yoghurt Crumble, Bakery, Breads & Jams and Pancakes. Furthermore we also offer a A La Carte breakfast menu with many classics, such as our omelette for only 750vatus!

Q: Is there a business centre available?
A: Unfortunately our proximity to the ocean and open plan style resort does not permit us to offer a business centre on-site. We do however currently offer the rental of Lenovo Miix 10" Tablets for only 1000VT per day! Ideal for browsing, enjoying multimedia, skyping friends & family, light office work, etc... Guarantee formalities applicable.

Q: Do the rooms feature desks?
A: Regrettably the rooms are too small to allow for such furniture to be included. Our Harbourside Queen Rooms offer exclusive outdoor furniture and other verandas and balconies offer outdoor seating.

Q: Can you keep our luggage while we travel to the outer islands?
A: Moorings Hotel does offer luggage storage complimentary however we do not take responsibility for any loss or damages. The items are kept in the main office in full view of staff and guests alike. We inform you of our policy as a standard however we have never experienced an inconvenience to this day.

Q: Do you offer any special events or menus?
A: Yes Moorings Hotel does arrange special menus and events across the year including Valentine's Day set menu, Easter Specials, Halloween Buffet, Christmas Brunch Buffet and New Years Eve Buffet. We also cater for private events upon request.

Q: Do you have a meeting facility?
